What bothers me with the concept of a “downline” is that the principle quickly implies massive recruiting of people (without really being interested in them) rather than selling a quality product. I tried lots of MLM companies but always ended up dropping them because building a “downline” became sooner or later (sooner more than later actually) an “obsession”, without which no (or little) income was possible.
Reddit is a social news aggregation site that is a little different than typical social media sites. Content that gain the most up-votes moves toward the top of the Reddit list in the various categories giving them a greater level of exposure. In an ad-saturated world, where pop up ads have a 73% disapproval rating, 64% of people say ads are annoying or intrusive, and there are an estimated 500 million downloads of ad blocking software, native advertising has carved a comfortable, and less obtrusive, niche. With the explosion of programmatic native advertising, native ads are now overtaking display ads. But that doesn’t mean display ads are on the way out. Hardly. In 2017, display ad spend on the US reached $37.2 billion, up from $26.15 billion in 2015.

Taking a “one size fits all” approach rarely yields great results for advertisers. For example, imagine a jeweler who specializes in women’s jewelry. He may be inclined to create ads geared toward a female audience, thinking this is target persona. The jeweler should absolutely create another set of ads that resonate with a male audience.

Because that’s not the most fun activity, Google introduced responsive display ads a couple years ago. In fact, as of the summer of 2018, the responsive ad type is the default for display advertisers. The process couldn’t be much easier. Simply upload your business’ name and logo along with some visual assets (images and videos) and some basic ad copy. From there, Google Ads will test different combinations of visuals and copy to determine which versions of your ad perform well. Best of all, responsive display ads automatically adjust in size to meet the requirements of specific web pages.
Data should drive the message, and messaging should drive the design. Look to quantitative data to find messaging that has worked well on other channels or with a similar audience. Messaging from traditional marketing pieces can also be a great place to start. Additionally, qualitative data like stakeholder and audience interviews, chat logs, or customer reviews can also be effective for crafting engaging content. Words and phrases pulled directly from your audience helps you relate and speaking their language.
